Default Spare Change Skill

I don't know if this has been discussed in the past. But one of my favorite skills in FF Series is the Spare Change. It is a non-elemental, armor ignoring damage. I wonder if it is a good idea to include a similar skill in GW2. Imagine throwing away 1k of Gold against enemy that will do 1k damage it's a 1-hit kill.

Or if you have extra Ecto, you can use it too to make a 5k damage

So, instead of throwing dirt, why not throwing Gold?

Because that further divides the rich and the poor. LFG with 100k gold each for DoA run.

You deserve to be beaten for suggesting the use of a FF feature in a real game.

It think it will teach the players to pick up those yellow thing on the ground. And when they pick up gold, most likely they won't use it because they will reserve it for major battles. So, it will also make lots of players rich.

Who doesn't pick up the stuff that's on the ground? Sorry, I must have missed that memo where people decided not to pick anything up.

o_O?

And rich? What part of literally throwing away money makes someone rich?

I'm just not seeing the sense in any of this.

FF is a real game also. I think FF is more expensive that GW. I have FFVIII, IX, X and X-2.

I think using hard earned gold to kill tough enemies is a good thing.

not being rude, but i think you've missed what i say. i said players will learn to pick up those 50g, 70g on the ground. Maybe you are picking everything, but there's just thousand other players who don't pick up everything that drop.

Not being rude, but I think you should just stick to playing Final Fantasy.

The thing that keeps spare change in FF in check is the fact that you have other skills that do way more damage, like the summon knights of the round. If the skill does say, 0-100 damage with balanced cast time/recharge time, then it's totally plausible, but then it'd be pretty useless when you can equip other spells.

Some suggestions are solely based upon "I like _____ in another game, please put it in GW." These suggestions are almost entirely bad, because they don't take into account that GW and that other game are vastly different. You may as well suggest adding nukes.

By the time that summon finishes you could just send everyone to gank the lord.

QFT.

If it's something that would fit into the GW universe, sure...but I just don't see the inhabitants of GW throwing money at each other. Part of the reason it works for FF is that the FF universe (or Multiverse if you will) is that it retains some "cutesy"-ness to it.

So, maybe what we should do is that before a thread is started here, it should first be submitted to a moderator to get an approval for discussion. I think there is one section here that has that feature enabled.

I've been to other forums (actually i have my own forum, too) and most of the time, suggestions and ideas come from other people's experience (games, and other things). Only few people who have the "good brain" to come up with unique, creative ideas. But even so, we still encourage people to come up with ideas because maybe something good will come out of it.

By the way, in my work place, we have what we call "Suggestion Plan." Employees are rewarded with $1 per suggestion. If the suggestion gets implemented, he will be rewarded more (depending on cost reduced by the suggestion, etc.).

So, unless Mods are already fed up with silly, annoying ideas and suggestion, why not let new comers and players express what they think is good for the game. Anyway, this is their game, too.

I remember using it and then just going to grab a drink or do some other stuff :S

The animation is pretty cool. The only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't disable it after watching it for 10000000x.

I was happy that you can disable summon animations in future games, but it's not like they take 10 minutes to complete...

Thank you for that very intelligent post. I think it added a lot on the discussion.

And maybe Savio's opinion is strengthened by expressing your agreement with him.

thank you very much ;-)
